Using Rohr products

Which Rohr products are safe to use on children?
All of our products are safe for use on children. In fact the Desert Lime moisturiser was a formulation made for children with eczema by Emily’s dermatologist father.

Can I use your products while pregnant/breastfeeding?
Our products are all perfectly safe to use whilst pregnant/breastfeeding.

Are there any Rohr products designed for men?
Lots of men love our products! The activated charcoal and kakadu plum soap is a favourite, along with the kakadu plum serum - this is great after shaving. The rosalina cleanser can also work as a soothing shaving cream and the lilly pilly face moisturiser lovely to apply afterwards.

Are there any Rohr products for acne-prone skin?
Particularly good for acne is the kakadu plum, as it is oil free and super light. Our rosalina cleanser is also perfect for teenage and acne prone skin.

Are there any Rohr products for ageing skin?
All of our products work well for aging skin, but the boab oil is very nourishing and rich and therefore perfect for aging skin in need of that extra hydration. It is particularly lovely to apply before bed - you will wake up feeling soft, dewy and fresh all day!

I have sensitive skin, which Rohr products can I use?
Rohr products are made for all skin types and due to the gentle effectiveness of them are perfectly safe to use on sensitive skin. We recommend you try a small amount as a test first or ask us for some samples to try before buying, we love to hear what you think and don’t think you will be disappointed.

I have a serious skin condition (eczema, psoriasis, my skin is responding to chemo), which Rohr products can I use?
Originally developed as an eczema formulation the desert lime moisturiser is recommended for use twice a day to help relieve sensitive skin prone to psoriasis and eczema.

I have sunburn - which Rohr products can I use?
The kakadu plum serum is perfect for sunburn - it is cooling, soothing and a natural source of vitamin C. If put in the fridge for 10 minutes before applying you will instantly feel better.

Do you make a face or body scrub?
Not yet - however if you add some epsom salt to our honey myrtle body wash you can make a beautiful and deep cleansing scrub perfect once a week to give your skin a lovely soft glowing vibe.

Are Rohr products gluten free?
Yes, all of our products are gluten free.

I have a question about which of your products are best for my skin type. Is there someone I can ask?

How does the mix and match and product layering approach to your products work?
Because we keep the actives in their natural whole state, the ingredients work with all their derivatives and excipients, and this enables them to work differently on different skin types.
The evolution of the plant over millions of years means that it has faced every potential event, and therefore developed this resilience and flexibility. So, all the excipients and derivatives are designed to be adaptable.
The idea is that the actives (phenolics, flavonoids, vitamins) that each skin type uniquely requires, are delivered and absorbed according to the individual’s needs.

What is the best way to care for my face and body brushes?
Our face and body brushes must be used dry. It is best to avoid using them in the shower/bath.

How should I store my Rohr products?
Always keep your Rohr products cool, dry and out of direct sunlight.

What's in Rohr products?

Do any Rohr products contain microbeads?
Our products DO NOT contain mircrobeads.

Does your deodorant contain aluminium?
We are proud to say our deodorant is completely chemical and aluminium free.

Do Rohr products contain any toxins?
Rohr remedy is completely natural and therefore does not contain toxins of any kind. We pride ourselves on knowing exactly where our ingredients come from so we can testify to this. 

Are your products Australian-made?
Yes, as much as possible we manufacture our products in Australia. The majority of our ingredients used are sourced from all around this great land and we have deep connections with many of our growers.
Some of our ingredients come from Broome, some from Northern Territory, others from Queensland, Northern NSW, Tasmania, and some from the south west of WA.
We manufacture our products in Melbourne, Adelaide, and Sydney. Our designers and box makers are in Melbourne.
Our extracts come from regional NSW and our essential oils from south west WA and Tasmania.
On occasion, we do manufacture some of our products in New Zealand.

What preservatives do you use?
We use our preservatives at 0.8% and Benzyl Alcohol (and) Dehydroacetic Acid as allowed by the EU ecocert regulations body - currently the strictest and most rigorous in the world. These preservatives are considered the most effective natural preservatives, and are allowed in certified organic and natural products.
In our deodorant we use phenoxyethanol, as the deodorant is an alkaline formulation and as such needs different preservatives. This is approved by the FDA (in the US) and by NICNAS (in Australia) for natural formulations.


Buying Rohr

I live outside of Australia, how can I buy Rohr?
Unfortunately, due to COVID-19, we have had to suspend our international shipping as it has become very costly for us with long delays. We hope to resume this service soon.
In the meantime, we do have international sales partners you can purchase our products from.

What is your return policy?
Our policy lasts 30 days. If 30 days have passed since your purchase, unfortunately we can’t offer you a refund or exchange. To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging.

How do I get my referral money for referring a friend?
When you get your email receipt, there will be a referral link.

Do you have a minimum for orders?
There is no minimum order, although there are shipping costs for orders under $80. The freight charge is based on the weight of items ordered.

I have not received any tracking information or shipping updates
If you did not receive an email with tracking information, please email us at info@rohrremedy.com and we will pass these on to you.

I have had a reaction to a Rohr product, can I get a refund?
Yes of course, obviously allergies are a part of life. Should you have an allergic response we are happy to refund the product once it is returned. Please notify us of this immediately - recommended for all skin products is to patch test first. Especially if you are hypoallergenic.

Environmental & ethical questions

Is Rohr palm-oil free?
Yes, we do not and never will use palm oil in any of our products.

Is Rohr a First Nations company?
Rohr Remedy is not owned or run by First Nations people. We acknowledge the Yulparitja people as the traditional custodians of this land we live and work on today, and pay our respects to Elders past, present, and emerging.
Rohr Remedy is a family run business and we have lived and worked in remote Australia for 25 years. We have independently put over $20 million into Aboriginal communities since 1998, with no government funding.
We work as equals, promoting genuine partnerships and appropriate remuneration. Many of the Rohr Remedy family are First Nations People and our ingredients are sourced through the Yulparitja women and men with whom we have had the great honour to work with and share knowledge and skills. As a result, we now collaborate with different communities and small farmers - who are all as passionate as we are about their products and raw materials.

Is Rohr packaging recyclable?
Our packaging is 100% recyclable and we only use BPA free packaging.

What is Rohr's carbon footprint?
It is our mission at Rohr Remedy to work towards keeping our carbon footprint as minimal as possible. We are always looking at ways to reduce our footprint and are currently developing refillable options.

Do you test on animals?
No, we do not and never will support animal testing for any of our products.

How does Rohr ensure fair trade throughout its supply chain?Because we are completely aware of where our ingredients come from, we know our suppliers and have oversight over their operations. 

Are your products vegan friendly? 
Our products are all vegan, with the exception of the Gumbi Gumbi Lip Balm, which contains lanolin and beeswax, and the Goats Milk and Honey Myrtle Soap.


Are Rohr products certified organic?
Our raw ingredients and extracts and essential oils all are made in Australia, We work with small batch farmers, and indigenous traditional owners, who wild harvest plants where possible - this means we are not technically not organic. Wild harvested plants are more potent than organic plantation grown plants.
