No Greenwashing

Greenwashing is where companies misleadingly market their products as clean or eco-friendly when they’re not.

Shopping for clean beauty products and avoiding greenwashing can be a bit challenging, but with some research and knowledge, you can make informed choices.

Here are some tips to help you shop for genuine clean beauty products:

  1. Educate yourself: Start by understanding what clean beauty means and the ingredients you should avoid.
  2. Check product labels: Read the ingredient list carefully Avoid products that contain harmful chemicals for example parabens, phthalates, petrochemicals, propylene glycol, sulphates, synthetic fragrances, BPA, artificial colours, aluminium, silicones and palm oil.
  3. Research brands: Investigate brands you’re interested in to determine if they have a commitment to clean and sustainable practices.
  4. Look for transparent brands: Companies that are genuinely committed to clean beauty will be transparent about their ingredients, sourcing and production processes.
  5. Opt for minimalistic formulations: Simpler ingredients with fewer chemicals are generally a good sign of a "cleaner" product.
