Ethical & Sustainable Beauty

Grace Elizabeth by Camilla Akrans for Vogue Germany January 2017.
The conversation around ethical and sustainable beauty products is becoming more relevant, as consumers are taking a more proactive choice to educate themselves about what goes into their beauty products and where they come from.
How to identify if a brand is Ethical & Sustainable
With so many beauty products on the market, it is hard to navigate which is the correct one to buy. Through marketing a brand can claim they are ethical or sustainable, however, it is important to make sure they practice what they preach.
There are 4 key ethical & sustainable factors that you need to look out for when looking at the ingredients of your beauty products:
- Cruelty-Free
- Natural, Wild harvested or Organic
- Palm Oil Free
- Vegan
However, it is not just ingredients that consumers focus on, but also the business ethics of the brand. The criteria for an ethical & sustainable business can be broken down into the following points:
- Ethical sourcing
- Thoughtful packaging
- Charitable Giving
Our Ingredients

At Rohr Remedy, we use nutrient-dense, rare Australian botanicals, formulated with intact bioactivity. All our raw ingredients are Eco-Cert approved and have undergone extensive microbial and ISO preservative efficacy testing (where necessary). Put simply, they are put through the world’s most comprehensive testing for natural formulations.
All our products are cruelty and palm oil-free and we ensure our products are also free from parabens, phthalates, petrochemicals, Propylene Glycol, sulphates, synthetic fragrances, Bisphenol A (BPA), artificial colours, aluminium, and silicones.
Our Business
We are a family business that is committed to operating in an ethically responsible and environmentally sustainable way. Our company was founded thanks to the shared knowledge and skills of the Yulparitja women and men of Broome, Western Australia. As a result, we now collaborate with different communities and small farmers who share our passion for sustainable and ethically sourced, wild-grown, and organic ingredients.
