Ask Emily – How should I exfoliate?

The Good vs Bad

Exfoliating is one the best way to naturally improve the appearance of your skin, but it can be a double-edged sword if you do it too often or use the wrong products.

Exfoliating does wonders for the skin, not only does in clean the skin deeply it also can reduces the symptoms of acne, improve skin texture and challenge the aging process. But it is important that you do it correctly to have the maximum benefit.

Harsh, chemical filled scrubs can often cause inflammation and even acne. Exfoliating the skin too often can increase redness and scarring. Also, we believe that different exfoliation technique should be used for the face and body.

BODY

We recommend exfoliating using our honey myrtle body wash with a teaspoon of our NEW 100% pure magnesium baths salts. Our body wash combines the antibacterial power of Honey Myrtle – a more potent bio active than tea tree and cell regenerating native Quandong fruit for a refreshing blend that will invigorate the skin. By combining this with our ant-inflammatory salts, it will give you a gentle but detoxifying scrub, leaving skin renewed.

FACE

When it comes to exfoliating the face we recommend using a dry face brush made with natural soft fibres. Dry face brushing allows the dead skins cells to exfoliate faster and encourages collagen production. It is exfoliation without chemicals. After dry brushing, cleanse the skin with the rosalina face cleanser to remove any dry skin and debris. Finish with the lilly pilly and omega 3 face moisturiser, this will rejuvenate the skin, leaving it with a soft glow.

Dry Body Brushing

Believe it or not body brushing has huge benefits for the skin especially for those with sensitive skin who may react to scrubs. Just a couple of minutes a day will target your lymphatic system and release toxins, discourage fluid retention and cellulite, and remove dry skin. After a good dry body brushing session with our amazing natural fibre body brush, we recommend applying the Rohr Remedy Boab & Rosehip Oil which is multivitamin of oils. By massaging this into your skin, you will not only improve circulation but also lock in hydration, leaving you glowing from head to toe.
